We love your new leadership approach – TUC boss to Dampare

The Secretary General of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), Anthony Yaw Baah, has expressed his appreciation for the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, and the leadership of the Ghana Police Service.

He commended their continuous engagement with various stakeholders across the country, emphasizing that this approach is giving real meaning to the police’s motto, “Service with Integrity.”

Mr. Yaw Baah pointed out that road safety data suggests that improvements are evident under the leadership of Dr. Dampare. He believes the police’s approach is contributing to the perception of the Ghana Police Service as an institution characterized by integrity in its service.

“We are happy that you keep engaging all stakeholders. We are informing our members of the relationship you’re building with us,” Mr. Yaw Baah stated during a meeting with the police leadership at the police headquarters.

In response, Dr. Dampare reassured the TUC and all Ghanaians that the police are committed to ensuring a safe and incident-free Christmas season.

We want to assure you that this Christmas will be awesome. I assure you that the police will give you a double overdose of security. So Ghana is ready, and to all the tourists, I want to assure you that Ghana is ready, the police are ready. Come and enjoy our hospitality. We will protect you and all your belongings,” he declared.

In recent days, the Ghana Police have actively engaged various stakeholders, including Muslim leaders, the Ghana Private Roads Transport Union (GPRTU), the creative arts industry, and the TUC.

These meetings have strengthened collaboration and built bridges between the police and different sectors of society.

The willingness of the police to engage with stakeholders reflects a commitment to enhancing safety and security for all citizens and visitors during the upcoming holiday season.
