Ghanaian music star Stonebowy has applauded Asamoah Gyan for funding his knee replacement surgery in 2016.
Stonebwoy tweeted: “@ASAMOAH_GYAN3, you came through for me around this same time 7 years on. You decided to take my surgery cost. I’m forever Grateful.”
Six years ago, Stonebowy told Joynews that he always planned to undergo surgery to correct his knee that got damaged in an accident.
He disclosed that he suffered a knee injury after an accident in his teen. Detailing the trauma, Stonebwoy revealed that he promised his mother that he fix himself back into the “complete, nice boy” she birthed.
“The lesson learnt in it is perseverance and determination. You know yourself more than somebody knows you. Don’t look at what they say or do. At the end of the day, you know yourself better. Keep pushing in life. One day you will get to the ultimate where you will be satisfied with your soul.”
Stonebowy’s latest revelation tells of a friend many did not know about. As superstars in their own rights in different industries, it is just a surprise that Asamoah Gyan extended such generosity.
The CEO of Burniton Music Group was born in Ashaiman, Ghana. He studied at Methodist Day Secondary School and continued at the University of Professional Studies to earn a degree in marketing in 2013.
In 2015, Stonebowy won the Best International Act: Africa category at the 2015 BET Awards and Artist of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards in the same year.
He is married to Louisa Ansong Satekla, with two children between them.
