A Ghanaian cybersecurity expert is combining her professional background with an interest in beauty to help women better understand online safety. Xornam, who is married to DJ Mac — a well-known broadcaster, media owner and cybersecurity professional — is launching a campaign called Glow Safe, which uses the language of beauty and skincare to explain concepts in digital security.

Xornam grew up in Accra, raised in Abossey Okai and Ablekuma. She is the eldest of four siblings, born to a Wala mother, Humu Yakubu, and a father from the Volta Region, Stephen Ababioo Dzidzornu. She attended Mawuli School in Ho and later studied Accounting at Ho Polytechnic, where she also hosted a radio programme on Volta Premier FM.

She later moved to the United States and earned a degree in Cybersecurity from the University of Maryland Global Campus, graduating with a 3.83 GPA. Over the years she has added several professional certifications to her name, including CISSP, CISA, CGRC, CEH, ISO IEC 27001 Senior Lead Auditor, PMP and CMMC CCP. She is also the founder of Forever Solutions Group, a US-based cybersecurity firm, and says she has mentored more than 50 people into the field, with a focus on women.

The idea behind Glow Safe is to connect everyday habits with online safety in a way that feels familiar rather than technical.

“Your primer is your password. Your skincare routine is your digital hygiene,” she says.

She says the inspiration comes partly from her upbringing. “I grew up knowing that beauty and discipline go hand in hand,” she explains. “My mother and my Auntie Jemila taught me that. Cybersecurity just gave me a language for it.”

DJ Mac, her husband, is recognised across Ghana for his work in broadcasting, media and cybersecurity. He has built a career that brings together his experience as a DJ and media personality with his expertise in digital security, making him one of the more distinct voices at the intersection of entertainment and tech in the country.

Outside of work, Xornam is a mother of three, aged 16, 14 and 4. She enjoys fitness, vintage cars, home decoration and music, speaks English, Ga, Twi and Ewe, and has travelled to more than 100 cities worldwide.

With Glow Safe, she says she wants to reach women who may not feel cybersecurity is relevant to them, and show them that protecting themselves online does not have to be complicated. “Now I want to give back by sharing what I have learned,” she says.

Xornam is the founder of Forever Solutions Group and the creator of the Glow Safe campaign. DJ Mac is a broadcaster, media owner, cybersecurity expert and DJ based in Ghana.
