Kamaldeen Sulemana, who recently joined Southampton from Stade Rennes, has dismissed claims that his transfer was influenced by fellow Black Stars player and Southampton defender, Mohammed Salisu.
Sulemana emphasized that Salisu played no role in his decision to join the Premier League club.r
Despite having options to sign with Everton or Bundesliga team RB Leipzig, the 20-year-old ultimately chose Southampton, which sparked speculation that Salisu may have influenced his decision.
“Before coming, obviously in the national team we talk about the English Premier League, we talk about everything but before coming here, he had nothing to do with the decision.”
“I just made my decision and then when I got here he showed me around. He is a good guy and he is helping me out here,” Sulemana said.
Sulemana’s transfer to Southampton was completed last Tuesday, finalising his £25 million move to the Premier League club. This transfer makes Sulemana the most expensive signing in Southampton’s history.
The Right to Dream Academy graduate made his Southampton debut last weekend against Brentford.
