Dormabin: Customer shot dead in robbery at filling station in Oti Region

A customer has been shot dead following a robbery at a filling station in Dormabin, Oti Region, on Sunday, November 24.

The victim, mistaken for a station attendant, sustained gunshot injuries as the robbers fled with GH¢9,000.

According to Kingsley Mamore, a journalist with Oti Radio in Dambai, the victim received initial treatment at the Dormabin CHPS facility but was referred to the Worawora Government Hospital.

Tragically, the victim succumbed to injuries while in transit.

Authorities are yet to apprehend the perpetrators, as investigations into the incident continue.

“On Sunday evening about 7:45 pm, there was this young guy who happened to visit the filling station to buy fuel. Armed robbers stormed the premises of the filing station and mistook the deceased for one of the pump attendants.

“They opened fire on him and eventually entered the premises and made away with GHS9,000. The police have beefed up security patrol within the community to prevent any future occurrence.”
