Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton, says previous results against Comoros are insignificant to the 2026 World Cup qualifier to be played today, Tuesday in Moroni.
The last time Ghana played ‘The Coelacanths’ at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, the Black Stars lost 3-2 to bow out of the tournament at the group stage.
Speaking ahead of the meeting at the Moroni Stadium, Hughton stated that results in the past can’t decide games yet to be played.
“These games are in the past. We are only concerned about now. Nobody can decide on a performance or score line in the past,” he said.
“We have prepared ourselves the best way that we can. International football is always a short term answer.
“We are here because we feel we can win the game. This is normal for any team. As regards any score line in the past, they are insignificant.”
The Black Stars scored a 95th minute winner against Madagascar to kick start their qualifying campaign and will hope make it back-to-back wins and lead Group I.
The game will kick off at 4 pm, with live commentary on Joy 99.7 FM. Build-up starts at 3 pm.
